Welcome Winterfest!
Winter weather arrived just in time for Flagstaff's Annual Winterfest to kick off. Even though the snow was short lived and we're left with the bitter cold and dry aftermath, there are plenty of events happening around town each week during the month of February. We may not be able to celebrate a winter wonderland like we were this time last year (which may be perfectly ok, really) but we can celebrate events that contribute to why Flagstaff is so great (and why we love life here despite freezing temps!)
Here's a shout out for what's happening around town this week:
Winterfest Beer Tapping at Lumberyard Brewing - 5:30 to 6:30 this evening (Tuesday, Feb. 1st)
Lumberyard brewing is unveiling an original and locally inspired Scotch Ale in honor of Winterfest. $1 off a pint of the Winterfest brew. Hooray Beer!

Ladies Beer Club Meeting - Wednesday, Feb. 2nd, 5:30 -7:00pm at Lumberyard Brewing.
Lumberyard is 2 for 2 this week with a ladies-only event pairing beer with chocolates and fudge. And quite possibly a hunky brewer. (You don't have to be single to attend, but you do have to 21 years of age.)

Four Squares for the Homeless - Friday, Feb 4th, 6:00-8:00pm at the Orpheum Theatre
Four Flagstaff chefs from Brix, Karma Sushi, Abineau Lodge and the Tinderbox Kitchen, will create a four-course meal using only ingredients contributed by the Northern Arizona Foodbank and the Flagstaff Family Food Center. Tickets are $65 plus four cans of food. Great food, for a good cause!

First Friday Artwalk - Friday, Feb 4th, 6:00-9:00 pm, Downtown Flagstaff
This monthly staple of Downtown FLG's social scene is also jumping on the chocolate bandwagon. Scan the ArtWalk map for tiny, printed chocolate hearts to know which venues are sharing their chocolate supply with the masses. However, ALL the venues participating have something great to see. Bundle up and we'll see you there!

Stories to Life: What's Love Got To Do With It? Sunday, Feb. 6th, 4:00pm, Coconino Center for the Arts
The final program of the Stories to Life 2010-2011 season is speaking to the language of love. culturalpartners.org
There are a gaggle of other fantastic events unmentioned above (including the sled dog races, Judy Collins at the Orpheum, and our own Joe Sorren and Charmagne Coe exhibitions). Click here to see a full calendar of Winterfest events, (Thank you Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce!)
