A flood of mail

On an average day, I like my job a lot. On a great day, I love my job. This week though, I was giddy. Every once in a while, something arrives in my lap that makes me act like a crazed little kid at Chirstmas. I’ve used this analogy before, usually when it comes to artwork being delivered and getting to finally see it in person after a long wait.

Many people ask me the process that CCA goes through to select our exhibitions; In the last 6 months or so, we’ve worked on fine-tuning this selection and now put out a “Request for Proposals”. Artists, curators, institutions, etc. are welcome to apply from anywhere with any sort of idea for an art exhibit to hold in the gallery here. Well, the deadline for this cycle just passed and I have to say, in looking through these proposals, I felt like an excited child. To make it even more fun, Robin joined in. As we flip through these, it’s exciting to picture all of the possibility of “what could be”.

Most of these, unfortunately will never come to fruition here at CCA, for one reason or another, but picturing a solo show here in “my gallery” by artist, Shag, gets my heart rate going either way :)

Oooh Santa! $44,000 please! That's all I want, $44,000 and a Shag show! Do you think Shag knows the Collegiate Shag?
