Local Holiday Shopping
As all of you Flagstaffian’s know, Tuesday was a snow-fest. With out the option to drive out of my driveway, I walked. I walked downtown, which surprisingly, was pretty alive. People walking around were climbing over piles of snow in the sidewalks and even biking in the slushy streets. But the sun was shining and it was a great day to be in the downtown community. Since work and all school’s had been canceled for the day, we set out to shop, eat, and enjoy the snow.
I stopped in at several clothing and gift stores including Rainbow’s End, Sundara, Sage Brush Trading Co., PJ Chilcottage, Basement Marketplace, and Zani, as well as sporting goods stores such as Absolute Bikes, Babbitt’s Sporting Goods, Babbitt’s Backcountry, and Peace Surplus. It seemed like every place was having sales! Sundara has 20-50% off all clothes. Basement Marketplace had their always-great deals featuring the 2 for $15, 3 for $20, and 4 for $25 on tees, thermals, and cardigan sweaters. Rainbow’s End was offering jewelry sales and free gift wrapping. Not only did I get some great gifts, but I was reminded what a great city we have for gift buying- better to give local gifts than go to chain stores or online shopping. So make sure to do your holiday shopping downtown and catch these great deals! Also stop into art galleries for locally-made jewelry, pottery, and other fine crafts. See you downtown!
