Glue is Good
I usually don't blog about FCP and our business unless the subject deals with installation of an exhibition. For the last 2 weeks all of my time, energy and brain power have been dedicated to the installation of It's Elemental and the preparation for everything surrounding the show. It's hard not to blog about this. This past week has been extremely busy and a bit chaotic with everything happening all at once. Jill (our glue) and I usually focus on the curation and hanging of the show together and she takes care of a lot of the details like making labels, email updates, etc. This was the first installation where everything on the plate belonged to me (and Elizabeth) This made me miss Jillian tremendously. Jillian has been the driving force behind numerous exhibitions at CCA and she always has a mental checklist in her mind. More importantly, she has an idea of the timeline for an exhibition. I'd be lying if I said we weren't scrambling to do touch up paint and hide electrical cords just before the members opening on Thursday night. All of the little things that I thought we could take care "later" became time consuming tasks on the day of the opening. Needless to say, we got things done and I definitely learned a lot. I would however, have a few less grey hairs if Jillian would have been here.
I thank Robin, Elizabeth, Pris and DP for all the help with installation. Here are some pics from the opening and members reception.
