Photography & Basketball
Former FCP employee, Joe Cornett (Jr.) has been keeping himself busy since moving on from his AmeriCorps position with us. Aside from earning himself a Viola Award as the chosen Emerging Artist of 2011, he has a solo exhibition going up at Coconino Community College Lone Tree Campus that will open this Friday. Joe will be displaying new work from the series, Shooting Hoops: It's All The Same. This series is a photographic collection of rustic and homemade basketball hoops that Joe has photographed in the Southwest within the last 2 years. Also, on display is a collection of photographs from The Night series including night photography of urban environments in San Francisco, Phoenix, Alcatraz and more.
We're very happy for and proud of Joe now that he's flown the nest. He really does have a natural knack for creating incredible frames out of light and landscapes. But you don't have to take it from us, see for yourself on Joe's website.
