au revoir & bonjour
With all the warmest well wishes, we bid adieu to our Gallery Assistant and ArtWalk Programmer, Marja van der Loo, as she started her Masters in Curatorial Practice at the California College of the Arts this semester!! How many congratulations can I give the girl, because she deserves them all!
We had a very fun few days with both Marja and Damon Taylor (who we really need to stop calling "the new Marja") in the office. No doubt, Damon's creativity will find a warm and welcome home in the office.
Damon is an emerging artist and printmaker. Originally from Fairview, Illinois, Damon received a Bachelors of Fine Art from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. After some time in that foreign land we call Texas, fall Damon moved to Flagstaff to take up the position of Program Coordinator for the Flagstaff Cultural Partners (that's us!). While pursuing a career in arts management Damon continues to develop new work centered around his changing environment and exposure to the various cultures of North America.
Damon has officially survived his first ArtWalk deadline, and you can see the fruits of his labor the First Friday of every month at various galleries and business in Historic Downtown Flagstaff. Click here for your guide.
