Who's Your Favorite?

It's that time of year once again. Flagstaff Cultural Partners is currently accepting nominations for the 5th Annual Viola Awards - to be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the High Country Conference Center. The Viola Awards are given to artists, organizations, galleries, and individuals who have a significant impact on the arts, and who do excellent work in the arts.

Please take a few moments to recognize some of the great work in the arts in the Flagstaff area! It is truly an honor for an artist to be nominated.

We are accepting nominations in the following categories:

Emerging Artist of the Year
Arts Educator
Science Educator
Visual Artist of the Year
Literature
Performing Arts
Music
Leadership
Outstanding Event
Organization of the Year
Lifetime Contribution to the Arts

Make a Nomination
Anyone can make a nomination for a Flagstaff-area artist, organization, gallery, business, musical act, or individual.




NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

• To nominate for a Viola Award, simply write a letter in support of the nominee, stating why you believe the nominee is deserving of an award.
• Read this: How to Craft a Great Nomination Letter.
• Letters should include the name of the nominee, website address for the nominee (if applicable), and contact information for the nominee (if available).
• Include the category for which you recommend your nominee.
• Please include why you believe the nominee is deserving of the award this year; specifically, state their accomplishments and activities in 2012 (exception: Lifetime Contribution award nominees). More ideas about the best way to craft a nomination can be found by clicking here.
• Please include any awards, acknowledgments or honors the nominee has received. If available, please include samples of the nominee's work.
• Letters may not be longer than 2 pages in length.
• Deadline for nominations is December 17, 2012.
• Letters can be sent via email (info@culturalpartners.org), or via regular mail (attn: Viola Awards, PO Box 296, Flagstaff, AZ 86002). If you nominate by email, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your nomination within two business days. Regular mail confirmations will only be sent if an email address is provided.
• PLEASE NOTE: We only need to receive ONE nomination for any nominee. Multiple nominations DO NOT ensure the nominee will be nominated or win; there is no public vote. The Viola Award Panel, composed of 24 past winners, artists, and experts, makes final decisions about the official nominees and award winners.

It's that easy! So who's your favorite artist, organization, teacher, performer? Who do you think deserves recognition for the outstanding work they're doing in Flagstaff? They can't win if you don't nominate them.
